Is the Trump Nomination More Proof That the American Era is Over?

Donald Trump is the last man standing for the Republican nomination of president of the United States with Texas Senator Ted Cruz announcing the end of his run for the White House.

“With a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign.” Cruz said in his resignation speech, but what optimism remains for the once great United States when it chooses Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to face off as its leader?

The sad truth is that we do not have the candidates we need, we have the candidates we deserve and neither will be able to repair the fatal damage already done to the country.

Now before you start calling me a fatalistic pessimist you should understand my insight for where we are as a nation and as a people. The United States of America has been given a series of warnings by God over the last 21 years that has gone mostly unheeded.

Most Americans ignored the warnings of 9/11 and the economic collapse of 2007 and 2008 that gave us President Obama. Instead of repentance from disobedience and wickedness we embraced our sin.

Many Christians and unbelieving Americans ridiculed the four blood moons and the teachings of the shemitah seasons as more end times folly when these signs were not signaling the end of the world but the end of the American era because our nation would not turn from it’s evil found in abortion, socialism, drug use, sexual immorality and murderers running free.

So, we are left with two choices for president. Hillary Clinton, who is ok with abandoning Americans holding the posts they have sworn to defend, lied about more stuff than I can cover, arrogant enough to leave classified information on private systems in direct violation of the law, but she didn’t mean it and it is in the past.

Then there is the Donald, truly one of the most self-centered people to ever run for president. The only reason he did this well is because we live in a uneducated celebrity centered society. His so-called tough talk seems impressive because so many people loved for him to fire people on a reality tv show and now they think he will do the same for the country.

We should understand that the father of Ted Cruz holds to a doctrine that is not sound or biblical and that is that we can bring about the return of Jesus by setting up a Christian form of government with a truly Christian leader, but this is not what the bible teaches.

It is easy to confuse pessimism for realism because of the lack of a positive spin, but let me give you a positive spin. While we cannot force the return of Jesus in our own strength, it does not mean that we should not seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

The Lord will return but not to set up America as the promised land by itself. No, you see the bible teaches that most people will reject God and His salvation but that Jesus will return one day to end sin and rebellion.

He will then set up His Kingdom on earth headquartered in Jerusalem but it will be on His terms and in His time, until then we are to remain faithful until He returns despite who sits in the White House.
