Spiritual Blindness in an Already Dark World

The bible teaches that mankind is blind to the things of this world, the source of this blindness is not only our sin but the false god of this world. Most people believe that they understand the spiritual when in fact they embrace their selfish sin and live for themselves.

If you have been a Christian for some time then chances are you know the story of Balaam and his donkey. Balaam believed himself to be wise and spiritual, understanding the knowledge of God, having his eyes opened and uncovered.

Then it is no mere coincidence that Balaam could not see the Angel of the Lord standing in his path when his donkey could, after all most would consider a donkey to be one of the dumber animals and yet the donkey could perceive the spiritual realm when Balaam could not.

The same is true today, while many people would consider themselves to be wise they do not perceive what is happening in the spiritual realm, even though it is right there on the front pages of newspapers in the headlines we read.

Jesus would remind us that we are blind and not just blind but naked too. He calls on us to come to Him and get clothes and eye salve, because if we are to understand where we are on the heavenly timetable we must ask the One who keeps the time.

You may be wondering where I am going with this or you may already know, the headlines speak volumes about where we are and where we are headed but only if you have allowed the Lord to create a biblical worldview in your heart and mind.

The headline getting the most attention right now is not the republican nominee for president of the United States as it normally would but on the head of Fox News about to leave and the number of personalities that might follow him out.

What does this have to do with Balaam’s donkey? Everything.

Fox News is rated #1 for America’s source of news and one person controls most of the news presented to America. Does that not concern you?

We already know that the television networks, both broadcast and cable, do the bidding of the godless progressives and only pass on propaganda sprinkled with some current events.

Now, I had no illusions that Fox was a purely neutral outlet for news. Nor did I believe it was unbiased but I did not fully realize to what degree Roger Ailes wielded editorial power.

I have been Fox free for over a year now after cutting the satellite, which sounded better when it was the cable. It is difficult to know how much true information we are getting these days but we are being distracted from what is most important to know by these sleazy stories that bump all else to the background.

The Turkish rebellion has far reaching implications that we do not yet realize and many of them are prophetic, revealing the embryonic kingdom of the last days but our eyes are being covered.

The almost daily attacks by Muslim men on European and American targets are being relegated to police blotter stories because they are not the bigger number of murders of 50 or more the press will turn out to see and report.

We can’t see the pattern that we should easily see because we are blinded and our eyes are being covered and pretty much we are okay with it. We would rather kill the donkey with a sword, if we had one, than face the truth of the world we live in.
