Pope Francis Goes to Washington

Pope Francis spoke before a joint session of congress on Thursday, the first time a pontiff has had such an honor. No other religious leader has been allowed such an opportunity to speak to congress and the members of the Supreme Court.

So what was said? Did the pope remind the United States of it’s biblical heritage and encourage repentance of sin and the return to the values that made America the great nation it once was?

No.

Pope Francis used this unprecedented opportunity to espouse many unbiblical ideas using American history and the Golden rule.

As expected by hearing or reading other speeches given by the pope, he encouraged American leaders to allow more immigration even though we allow over 2 million people into the country legally and illegally each year, more than the other world nations combined.

He again addressed earth worship, er, I mean climate change, calling on America to foot the bill for the hoax that man can affect the earth in such a way that is so easily disproved but I digress.

He called for an end to the death penalty as socialists tend to do, using the Golden rule even though it is a violation of God’s command.

Francis also called on America to create more wealth and jobs though business while at the same time decrying capitalism.

The pontiff did make veiled calls to respect life in the womb and the importance of family without really hitting homosexuality and abortion directly, this as the leadership that welcomed him was itself Catholic. Namely, Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner and the vice president Joe Biden.

Ultimately, Pope Francis spoke as one of the congressmen or senators he addressed as a socialist doing lip service to God because that is what he is supposed to do. However, like those he spoke to, he is far from the biblical truths he claims to hold.
