Is the Building of Walls a Sign of the Endtimes?

Jerusalem continues to see increased violence and tension as the conflict between Israel and the Arab nations escalates and walls are going up in the old city.

There have been more stabbing attacks in recent days with a shooting of a bus station bringing tensions to a head. The violence began at the biblical New Year known in Hebrew as Rosh Hashanah and really has not let up.

While many of the attacks are localized to small groups or individuals being hurt or killed, the cumulative effect is taking a toll on the Israeli people and government. Palestinians are making a concerted effort to make Israel feel the pain of so-called occupation by stopping prayer and gathering at any holy site especially the Temple Mount.

The Palestinians are artful in deceptive propaganda, because of the teachings of Islam. They are claiming that it is Israel that started the conflicts by allowing worshiper’s access to the Temple Mount and it is Israel that is causing problems in Palestine by simply occupying Israel and you see it repeated by the newswires.

What Christians should note is that the bible informs us that Israel would reach a point where she could only depend on God for peace and safety, not the UN or the US or anyone else. Israel is the apple of the Lord’s eye and He will not have her turn to any but Him.

A good example is the makeshift walls going up in East Jerusalem to separate Arab from Israeli, there is a scripture found in Zachariah 2 that talks of a time when walls will not be needed because the Lord provides security for His people and Jerusalem will be free from such conflict.

Israel must realize that her help comes from the Lord and to not trust in the chariots of other nations.
