Reading is Fundamental Except in New Mexico

New Mexico ranks 49th in the nation for education and this is principally due to illiteracy and the progressive ideology of social promotion otherwise known as everyone gets a trophy.
Last year nearly 7,000 third graders failed reading aptitude tests and less than 5% of parents were informed of their child’s inability to read while the student (so-called) was promoted to the fourth grade.
The schools failed to follow the law on notification but the parents failed to notice their 8 year olds could not even read “Good Night Moon”.
