Obama’s Taxation Without Representation

Barack_Obama_signature_and_penThis is a test.

Not of the emergency broadcast system but of your tolerance to the change you can believe in.

The President of the United States, Barack Obama is testing the waters to see if there will be any real resistance to his expanded use of his pen. The president has been exploring the limits of his executive powers following the Republican take over of the senate and guess what, there was very little push back.

Oh sure, there was some squawking and some speech making but when the dust settled and the hurumphing quieted, the president had gained power and a clearly unlawful executive action was allowed to stand. Now the president is looking toward executive action with regard to taxation.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is “very interested” in the idea of raising taxes through unilateral executive action. Well sure, isn’t that a foundational issue to the president, tax until there is no sign of a middle class.

“Now I don’t want to leave you with the impression that there is some imminent announcement, there is not, at least that I know of,” Earnest continued. “But the president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. So I am not in a position to talk in any detail at this point, but the president is very interested in this avenue generally,” Earnest finished.

Specifically, Mr. Obama would like to increase the corporate tax rate, already the highest among the industrialized nations, which is an indirect tax on the very middle class he claims he wants to help.

The intended consequence is to continue the fundamental transformation of America into a European economy and pay for the varied progressive programs that are changing the spirit and thinking of the United States.

This funds Mr. Obama’s hopes to raise though this action would further fund his previous executive action that allows 4 million illegal trespassers to draw from the entitlement system without the inconvenience of paying taxes.

Democrats are finding it annoying that they cannot raise taxes as they please. Congress no longer bends to their will and they want the president to do something about it. Democracy is fine as long as does what you want. The continuing argument from the lawless is that because congress will not act as the president and his party desire, the president must take action.

Really? That’s how you think this works?

I suppose this is the point where I get all 1776 on you and remind you of the American revolution.

Well, there it was.

Patriotism and history lessons will only get us so far. Most people are unaware that we were able to free ourselves from dictators like King George is because we had eyes to see and ears to listen with.

There was a Great Awakening that occurred nearly a generation before the American revolution. The form of government we now enjoy is the result of drawing near to God, recognizing that it is our Creator who gives us the rights we enjoy, not a king or other ruler.

Because we have driven God from our government and our daily lives, we are given over to blindness. We cannot see that we are being enslaved by government, that President Obama and those of his thinking believe that our rights come from the government.

Under such a form of government, the executive branch is the final word on what rights we enjoy and how much of its money we have the privileged to use. Only the enlightened elitist class should enjoy privilege and wealth, all others should be equally impoverished.

Without the influence of the Holy Spirit and the Word of the Lord, we cannot see that the president is proposing taxation without representation. We are incapable of understanding that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty and the opposite is also true.
