It is tragic to behold.
The burning of the great city of Baltimore, Maryland. People claim to be protesting the death of a young man killed while in police custody. The neighborhoods they destroy are their own, the businesses are owned by their own and yet they are burned.
The mayor of Baltimore is a young black woman, hardly “the man” the rioters claim to be rising up against. The police chief is African American, again it is hard to lay the charge of racism at the feet of the police if they are of the same race.
Why does Baltimore burn? It is a choice being made by it’s citizens and it’s leadership. It is a choice born of sin and rebellion to the Lord and the resulting destruction is as old as the earth itself.
